Located in the Skowhegan Village Shopping Center, on the northern end of town, our store is open from 9 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday, and 9 AM to 5 PM every Sunday. We have an excellent selection of magazines, newspapers and greeting cards. Our gift section is overflowing with items for every occasion. We have everything from bookmarks to glass figurines and from Beanie Babies to tabletop fountains.
Of course, we also have books, LOTS OF BOOKS: hard covers, paperbacks, books-on-tape, contemporary fiction, historical fiction, classics, poetry, thrillers, romances, adventure stories for young and not-so-young, mysteries, westerns, science fiction and fantasy, children s books, auto repair manuals, humorous books, reference books, how-to books, books on nature, science, computers, spirituality, psychology, relationships, history, current events, entertainment, biography, gardening, cooking, art, pets, crafts...well, you get the point. And new titles arrive every week.
Our selection of bargain books covers the same range of subjects, but at savings of up to 80% off the original publishers prices.
Can't find the book you want? That's no problem, because we do special orders. If one of regular wholesalers has a particular book in stock, it will usually arrive within a week. Publisher orders can sometimes take two to three weeks.
We also do searches for out-of-print books. Just tell us what you need and we ll do our best to find you a second-hand copy. There is no charge for the search, but a deposit against the book s price is required before we can place your order.
