Master Maine Guide signs books in Ellsworth

Yarmouth, Maine (July 2010)—Master Maine Guide Randy Spencer, author of Where Cool Waters Flow: Four Seasons with a Master Maine Guide, will sign copies of his book from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 24, at Mr. Paperback in Ellsworth. The store is located at the Maine Coast Mall, 225 High St., Suite 13.

In his very popular book, Spencer puts readers in the seat of his Grand Laker fishing for salmon and takes them out on the trails, lakes, rivers, and roads of Grand Lake Stream, Maine. He also introduces the visitors, the local legends, and the residents of the well-known sportsman’s paradise, whether they are running sporting camps or tracking deer on an autumn afternoon. But perhaps most of all, his writing reveals a place where people go to decompress, connect with nature, and escape the pressures of modern society.

Where Cool Waters Flow is Spencer’s first book and is published by Maine-based Islandport Press. Spencer is a Master Maine Guide, certified by the State of Maine to guide clients on fishing, hunting, and other recreational adventures. Randy's guiding business is based in the remote eastern Maine town of Grand Lake Stream, home to some of the most beautiful scenery and some of the best fishing in the nation. Spencer also maintains a home in Holden, Maine. In addition to guiding, Randy is a singer/songwriter who has released five CDs, including his latest, Footprints in the Sand. He is also freelance writer for outdoor publications. In 2008, Yankee Magazine named him one of the "25 People You Need to Meet Most This Summer."
