The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows
The story centers around the Nazi occupation of Guernsey Island during WWII. I was a little hesitant to read this as the story is done in the form of letters written to various people by the main character. It is very well written, interesting and it flowed along extremely well. The characters are well developed and believable, with a moving story line of love and war. The storyline also evolves around the love of books and reading, sure to please any booklover. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it.

On Folly Beach by Karen White
This was an interesting story about the possibility of German U-boats landing on U.S. shores during WWII. The story combines elements of mystery and intrigue as it follows a family history from 1942 through present day. It is told through two different time periods as the story weaves back and forth. Attempts are made to solve the mystery through cryptic notes left from 1942. This is another story that evolves around bookstores and the love of reading. I have read most of Karen Whites novels, and this is by far my favorite.

Homer's Odyssey: A Fearless Feline Tale, Or How I Leaned About Love And Life With a Blind Wonder Cat  by Gwen Cooper
For anyone who loves stores about animals this is one of the best. The author's writing is superb! The author has the knack of writing in a way that makes you feel you are there watching the story unfold. I was able to visualize Homers expressions, moods, antics etc. Homer is an extraordinary cat. I found it fascinating what, and how much he could do despite his blindness. Exceptional tale of how animals can overcome difficulties and be wonderful loving pets. A great read.
